At the University of Basel, one credit point corresponds to thirty hours of learning. In the fall semester of 2022, the number of credit points for subject-specific language courses was therefore reduced from three credit points to two to reflect the actual workload necessary to complete the requirements for those courses. For courses at the Language Center, student workload includes preparation for class, review after class, and autonomous learning in addition to the course lessons.
