Depending on your home faculty, you may be eligible to receive elective credits for language courses taken at other institutions or for official language certificates.

To receive credits for language courses taken outside the University of Basel, two requirements must be met:

•    It must be a course you attended at an institution of higher education.
•    You must have acquired new competences or skills. Courses taken for the purpose of repetition will not be recognized for credit.

To submit a credit request, please proceed as follows:

1. Read our agreement with your faculty before submitting your request.
2. Complete the form for requesting credits for a course or certificate (one form per course or certificate).
3. Submit the completed request form together with the original course confirmation or language certificate to the Language Center.

The Language Center will review your request. If it evaluated positively, the Language Center will recommend the number of credits that the dean’s office in your faculty can award for the completed coursework.
