Subjects: Presentation of the lecture series with practical courses and formulation of introductions.

SAGG German Studies Day - "Writing with AI in literature and everyday life"

The first Swiss German Studies Day, organized by the Swiss Academic Association for German Studies (SAGG), provides an introduction to the world of automated writing processes. Lectures and a panel discussion will address the fundamentals, processes and effects of AI-based text production from the perspectives of literary studies, linguistics and media studies.

Swiss Writing Day 2023

Forum Schreiben is organizing the first Swiss Writing Day in cooperation with Dr. Mirjam Weder (University Lecturer in the subject area of German Linguistics and Literature) and with the participation of Dr. Beatrice Mall-Grob (Head of the German Department) and Stephan Meyer (Head of the English Department) for the Language Center of the University of Basel. The conference encourages discussion about writing in a multilingual context.

Computational Support for Learning Argumentative Writing in Digital School Education

After the pandemic-related break, the Writing Network is pleased to invite everyone interested in the funding of writing at the University of Basel to resume our regular exchange. We will kick off with a short input from Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Henning Wachsmuth (Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Leibniz Universität Hannover), followed by a discussion in which we will address the relevance of the rapidly growing use of AI for the development and improvement of argumentative writing at the university.
